Hi All
Only one "real" DX contact, K5YPV completed on 144.205 CW at 02:58Z
.... 5-2-9 nice steady signal and no QSB until well after we passed the
necessary info. Exchanging names etc before the qsb set in. As we were
exchanging grids, I had some SSB QRM from someone, but didn't dare tune
off or change modes to find out who, just out of the blue, sure glad they
moved or that one would have been lost. Wayne posted a message on the
144 Prog logger that I responded to so we knew where to dig in the noise for
each other. Everwho told him that I used the logger on occasion THANKS!!
EM54 is not a new grid or state, but from here 891 mile 2 meter contacts
WITHOUT MS are once a yr or 2 or 3 events...... Pretty cool.
N0PB tried to set K5MQ and I up at about 4:35Z but nothing heard. I heard
KG5MD in EM33 around the time I worked Wayne (K5YPV) when he was in
QSO with Eric I think, anyway with the signal difference there was no way to
work him without a "mid path helper" (mid wife??) lots of difference between
a 5-9+ sig from EN34 and S-0 from EN37.
Sounds like Terry VB had a GREAT night and I know many others had fun
and LOTS of Q's. Eric, John (ZQ), Gary, Matt, Dick(MQS), Ed (late) and
others were heard on working hard. I looked east several times and called
CQ on CW on variious freq, but heard nothing. None of the MO stations were
heard until Phil called me to try to set up EM31, he said you guys were
hoping over him most of the night early.
Terry worked K5QE (Marshall in EM31 TX) last night, Marshall's second
MN contact in 2 days. I had worked him on a 2m SSB MS sked Tuesday
morning. He liked the WAS double, having also used my 6m qso/qsl for 6m
WAS.
Good DX all .......
