It has always been that way around St. Louis, MO (KTVI). 100 dB down
from 100KW erp is still a strong signal. Wimpy receiver front ends never
help. Unless the receiver is being overloaded by the close in sidebands
of the channel 2 transmitter or the main carrier, NO FILTER at the
receiver will help.

At the slow rate of conversion, that 2006 cutoff date for NTSC is highly
optimistic. The prospect of 200 million TV owners being cut off will
lead to massive complaint and potential for revolt. Unless there's a $20
set top box to receive DTV and run the old TV in NTSC.
