Subject: [NJham] LETS GET OUT THE TROOPS FOR THE NEW JERSEY QSO PARTY DE N8LXR
Message-ID: <99.28e0c671.2a54ed13@aol.com>
Hello Everyone in the Garden State!
This is Tim, N8LXR, in Philadelphia, and I am originally from WILDWOOD, NJ.
I specialize in mobile contesting and would really appreciate it if lots and
lots of NEW JERSEY hams would join me in the 2002 NEW JERSEY
QSO PARTY, which will be held August 17th and 18th, 2002.
Complete Rules for the 2002 NJ QSO Party can be found at: SM3CER Contest
Service/Rules - 40th Annual New Jersey QSO Party .
I will be mounting a statewide mobile class effort: However, the extent to
which I
cover NJ Counties is dependent on the level of activity. This is NEW JERSEY'S
QSO PARTY! Please turn out and give the many hams in other states who love
state QSO Parties good reason to get on the air and make NJQP a success.
Even if you can get on the air for just a few hours, your participation in
NJQP is greatly needed and will help make it a fun contest for all.
I am not officially connected with NJQP in any capacity, just trying to help
make my home State of New Jersey's own QSO Party a big success this year.
I may have QSOed some of you during the PA QSO Party last year. I came in
3rd in the PAQP Mobile Class and am looking to do better this year.
73 and lets show them that the Garden State has a FB QSO Party this year!

Subject: [NJham] N8LXR LOOKING FOR A TEAMMATE FOR THE 2002 NEW JERSEY QSO PARTY
Message-ID: <9b.29e62a99.2a556df4@aol.com>
Hello NJ Hams:
This is Tim, N8LXR, in Philadelphia.
I am looking for someone to team up with during the 2002 NJ QSO Party, August
17th and 18th, as I will try to mount a statewide Mobile Class effort.
You must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive a stick shift, as
I am looking for someone to share driving and operating responsibilities with.
A fellow CW OP would be ideal, but phone OPS are welcome too.
Our equipment will be as follows: 2001 Toyota Tacoma, Yaesu FT 100D, High
Sierra
HS 1500 Screwdriver Antenna, and a completely independent 12 volt power
system:
300 amp hour, absorbed glass mat, deep cycle battery, 40 amp microprocessor
controlled charger, and a 3 KW AC generator mounted in the pick-up's bed.
I also have recently installed an IBM 486 Computer using NA Contesting
Software, to log and dupe with. All CW is also computerized using the 486.
There is also a FB operating "desk" mounted on the passenger side, complete
with
solid operating surface, the computer, an MFJ 490X Memory Keyer, and a pair
of Bencher BY 1 Paddles.
In the Pa QSO Party, before installing the IBM 486, this rig took 3rd in the
PAQP Mobile Class last October, and I recently garnered 600 contacts in the
2002 FD Mobile Class with it as well.
Its a rig installed with competitive mobile contesting as its main objective.
The first day of the Contest (August 17th) I plan to open in CAPE MAY COUNTY,
and will spend the entire day covering South Jersey. The second day (August
18th),
I will try to cover North Jersey, depending on activity.
Overnight accommodations are available at my home in Philadelphia, or I can
pick you up at your NJ QTH, so long as its not too far out of the way from my
trip down to
CAPE MAY to beging the contest the afternnoon of August 18th (contest starts
at 4 PM EST).
Please e mail me at MORSENUT@AOL.COM to set up a time that we can talk on the
phone, if interested.
73 to all!

Subject: [NJham] JSARS Bayville, NJ Hamfest Reminder
Message-ID: <99.2a153a4f.2a74c5e9@aol.com>
Just a reminder that the JSARS hamfest at Bayville, NJ is only 2 weeks away
on August 11, 2002
This is a sellout. All vendor tables have been sold for the first time in
this the 4th year of the hamfest. The layout is being studied to accommodate
more. Also we have a 2nd large commercial dealer. Yaesu, Alinco and several
product lines not represented before are now here.
Yaesu has promised gifts for attendees, what we don't know, maybe the hats
like Dayton, maybe the wall maps, but something will be coming.
Bring your friends, this will be a fun event.
AOL users take note, check your weekely RCF Ham Radio chat room. Members are
planning to meet for lunch after seeing the hamfest. People from Rhode
Island to central Pennsylvania have promised to come.
