[NJARC] The girl who heard Amelia's last radio transmissions

Since I don't know enough about radio theory to provide any useful reply to that, I look at it from the human side.
How would the little girl have the details to fake the information? I'm sure that Amelia's exploits were in the news frequently, I imagine it was quite exciting for a lot of people to follow, but would people know where she would be going at that specific time? The city\call sign information? The fact that she was crashing to begin with? Were people tracking her every move in the news with red "Indiana Jones" lines, or was it just known she was going "around the world"?
I presume like a lot of things, we may never know for sure, but it's still an interesting story.
