Hi Bill,
I have a Hakko 808, an earlier version of THIS
<https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hakko-FR300-05-120V-Desoldering-Gun-Handheld-Through-Hole-Replaces-808/132868156087?epid=1849876948&hash=item1eef8f2ab7:g:kJAAAOSw0d1b-5UR:rk:1:pf:0>.
It is "The Bomb" for removing through-hole components from PCB's. It
will suck some solder from a radio-terminal-strip joint, but it's not
magic, and I don't use it often. Might be better if you put your iron
on one side of the joint, and sucked at the other side.
My understanding is that Hakko was the original Japanese brand, and
there are numerous Chinese copies that use the same design, and
interchangeable parts. (There are some really nice
temperature-controlled soldering irons out there that are Hakko
knockoffs, and cost next to nothing. I think they're an good
alternative to trying to keep Weller stations working. LIKE THIS

Who needs soldering equipment more than the Chinese?)
But I digress. Found THIS

for a few dollars less:
