[NJARC] Philco 49-909

I'm working on a Philco 49-909.  I have a mechanical quirk that I can't seem to figure out.  I can't get the AM to play unless I squeeze a pencil (it's all I had) in between the RF / IF deck and the chassis right by the antenna terminals.  The FM was a bit quirky as well, but that's been more responsive.


    My guess is that there's some mechanical issue going on here.  Has anyone run into something like this with a Philco before?  Am I looking at a short in an insulator, bad chassis strap ( they are all tightly soldered), or something else?  When it plays it sounds great.  BTW...  I have the matching MP-15 phonograph to play through it.
