Jim,

The relevant Richard Brewster is a long-time collector, particularly of
early televisions, and AWA member:

His background is in nuclear engineering for Westinghouse, but presumably
he knows enough about tube electronics to make this circuit work, if not as
neatly, or squarely, as it could.
