A trip to the New England Wireless and Steam Museum is always worth the
effort, should be on every collectors bucket list. The Fall Steam-Up is an
exiting special attraction. The "steam" means real live old fashioned hot
steam running engines not the current acronym STEAM.

"Massie Station [PJ, http://newsm.org/buildings/massie/] antenna. A winter
storm blew down the mast on Massie Station. Volunteers replaced the mast,
then, led by Colin and Craig, added a new antenna. The new antenna is an
off-center fed dipole, 134 feet long, that will tune 6, 10, 12, 17, 20, 40
and 80 meter bands with a reasonable standing wave ratio. It is fed with a
4:1 Guanella Current balun which gives us a feed point of approximately 125
ohms. We have checked it on 80, 40 &
20 meters and worked several stations with good reports."
Has anyone in the club worked it? If not, change gears for a road trip to
East Greenwich, RI, for the awesome annual Yankee Steam-up Saturday, 29
September: https://newsm.org/steam-up/.
