I have no idea and better minds then mine have already seen it.
If I had to guess, the fact that it’s a 5 anode, large spaced diode (
80, 5U4…) I would think it’s a rectifier for some kind on multi-phase
AC system, or maybe a 5 pole, high voltage, very low current switch.
Conduction determined by which anode is energized.
In that era, people were experimenting with many crazy ideas to avoid
the Radio Group’s patents on everything glass.
Let me know if there’s any info on this.
I’m open to suggestions.
