I've had one for years with a primary use being to photograph a given subject. Mine is the cheap eyepiece drop-in type that can be used in a high power or low power stereo microscope; I use both. A variable intensity LED light ring help greatly in viewing and photographing and they're an excellent inexpensive investment. My application is mostly biologic but it works great on electronics too, especially open IF coils and contamination on circuit boards.

In the April 2017 issue of QST there was an article reviewing a USB Digital Microscope. I like the idea of using one if there is a circuit board that's hard to view, or a coil you're trying to get a closer look at.
I can't see it as an everyday tool, but it does have a legitimate use in radio work,. Has anyone bought one of these and what are your impressions?
