I like the idea of using one if there is a circuit board that's hard to view, or a coil you're trying to get a closer look at. I can't see it as an everyday tool, but it does have a legitimate use in radio work,. Has anyone bought one of these and what are your impressions? It will focus out to infinity. This is about 3/4" from the work. Main drawback is that you'll need some sort of mount, lab clamps or such, to hold it over your work space. Mine is the cheap eyepiece drop-in type that can be used in a high power or low power stereo microscope; I use both. ?A variable intensity LED light ring help greatly in viewing and photographing and they're an excellent inexpensive investment. My application is mostly biologic but it works great on electronics too, especially open IF coils and contamination on circuit boards. If I had to guess, the fact that it?s a 5 anode, large spaced diode ( 80, 5U4?) I would think it?s a rectifier for some kind on multi-phase AC system, or maybe a 5 pole, high voltage, very low current switch. Conduction determined by which anode is energized. In that era, people were experimenting with many crazy ideas to avoid the Radio Group?s patents on everything glass. Let me know if there?s any info on this. I?m open to suggestions. h -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I sent in a 6" Zenith speaker to be re-coned and rewound. The speaker came back looking like new, but sounded terrible. The cone has absolutely no compliance and it sounds like a Motorola communications speaker. Additionally it distorts at moderate volume. Waiting to hear back from them after leaving two messages and a email. I've had this GE Concierge Television for the past several years. I got it from our good friend Joe Cro. I've been hauling it between garages and storage units, always saying that I'll get to it eventually. I really like it, but I have no place for it, and with my luck, the tube will end up getting necked. It's all there. I have the knobs, the rear caster, the back and the Sams. Last time I played with it, it had sound and raster, but no picture. I did a recap, got a *POP* and the magic smoke, and that's where I left it. (S)he who wants it must pick it up from my storage unit in Howell. Photo Attached Regards, Joe Giliberti -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
