Helen is a super hero of the day, and a Telegraph operator on the Railroad. It has lots of early steam railroad scenes. Telegraph was their main communications media and Helen's roll is exaggerated some. But never the less it shows a woman in a traditional mans job. "1915"
There were a number of women Telegraph operators, and many of them became Ham Radio Operators.
This is an episode of the longest week-by-week serial/series in motion picture history (119 episodes). This is the final appearance of Helen Holmes in the series. Directed by J. P. McGowan for the Kalem Film Company. It is in the public domain and was obtained from archive.org.
There will be many more earlier episodes shown at the right side of the screen on Youtube.
