[NJARC] Service manual needed for Panasonic RF-888

Hi Al, Thanks for the heads up on Yahoo. In the past I had followed a
Sony radio group but found that the spammers started to out post the
regulars by a ton and I stopped using Yahoo.
I wasn't going to go from germanium to silicon, just hoped to tweak a
resistor or two on the output transistors if they could be driven a bit
more. Even the signal coming into them could be raised(?) but that could
throw off the circuit, might overdrive the output transistor. Just
thinking out loud.
I did get the dial drive assembly out thanks to the manual. Now for the
fun part, getting all the parts back into the cabinet, it's very cramped
in there.
The "rust" as the previous owner called it was actually corrosion on the
positive battery contacts from battery acid. I used the dremel w/a wire
wheel to clean them but started looking for battery contact replacements
at Mouser.
Plenty of AA, AAA and CR2 contacts but I need ones for for D cells.
Anyone have favorite sites for finding various battery contacts? It's
the positive side, no springs. The Mouser site uses Keystone Electronics
battery contacts. Here's where salvaging parts over the yrs sometimes
pays off but I don't have any contacts that will fit this radio in my
collection.
What cleaner do most of you folks use on the pots and switches? I've
been using DeoxIT D5 but see that Nu-Trol is also a fav for a lot of
people. I've cleaned the cabinet and wonder if Griot's Vinyl and Rubber
Dressing is a good choice for finishing the cabinet? Other choices?
