I guess the "gold standard" for the restoration of the AR-88 family is Henry Rogers'  http://www.radioblvd.com/ar88.htm webpage.  But Joe Jesson of DSRC might have access to material that Rogers didn't so there is always the possibility that "new" material will popup.  If anyone goes to the talk please share anything new.  If the talk is taped, I hope that it will be posted.Regards,Jim

Some of you will enjoy Tuesday night's meeting of the David Sarnoff Radio Club, originally founded at RCA's research labs and now continuing in various meeting spots in Mercer County. Read below for details on the AR-88 talk and the club's other activities.Best, Alex DAVID SARNOFF RADIO CLUB

Design History and Restoration of the RCA AR-88 Interception Receiver
                      Joe Jesson W2JEJ

* Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 7:30 PM
* American Red Cross, 707 Alexander Road, Suite 101,
Princeton, NJ 08540. See http://n2re.org/ for map and directions.

While initially exploring the history of wireless security, Joe presents
the finding, acquiring for the Sarnoff Museum on The College of NJ
campus, and restoring the RCA AR-88. He positions this receiver as
Bletchley Park's preferred interception receiver of German
communication during WWII. He shows the techniques applied to
breaking the NAZI enigma encryption and related methods to wireless
decryption methods today.

Finally, Joe will show how he incorporated the 1941 AR-88 RF design in
his electronics active component lab by having the students simulate,
in PSPICE and LTSPICE the AR-88 tracked RF sections and how the
existing 1941 vacuum tube design compares to a modern FET RF design -
given the AR-88 existing inductors and capacitors but changing the
bias to reflect the differences between the Pentode Vacuum tube and
the FET model.

Joe Jesson W2JEJ (was KC2VGL) is currently the CEO of RFSigint Inc,
a Wireless IP/Patent advisory service. Patent claims are compared
and mapped and expert witness offerings on IoT, M2M, Telematics,
and Telemetry patents. Joe is an engineering researcher on a DOT
grant and teaches, as Adjunct and Visiting Professor at TCNJ,
several engineering classes and Labs.
