If you are looking for a very nice bed and breakfast to stay at for this convention, I can recommend the Ellwanger Estate in Rochester. I just stayed there this past weekend for the Nitrate Picture Show at the George Eastman House.
This was a film festival that shows the original nitrate film prints of classic films. The Dryden Theater is one of only 3 places in the US that can screen the original footage as the films are extremely flammable. Fire codes in other places won't allow it. The Dryden is equipped with special projectors and safety equipment.
Saw a pre-release print of the film Laura from 1944. Since all we see today are copies of the original films, you could not believe the visual fidelity of the original images. You must one day see an original nitrate print if you love the movies.
The festival runs in May. Go next year.
Best wishes.
