[NJARC] Bluetooth Atwater Kent speaker

It's easy to mount an 8" PM speaker in those AK housings- I've done it to an E3 and F4 models; both had destroyed cones. My versions have several connectors and switches on the rear cover, along with matching transformers and choke internally so that they can be used on any radio that requires an external speaker. My R-390 drives the E3 spkr; the F4 is driven by the AR-88.
As for this Bluetooth model, I suspect that they just gutted it and installed an OTC Bluetooth spkr.

Fitting a bluetooth receiver into a balanced armature speaker is something we vintage radio people might be tempted to do. Especially if alcohol was involved. But this thing is entirely new construction. No original Atwater Kent speakers were harmed (or restored) in performing this trick. Can't tell if they're made of metal. I doubt it. But they look pretty good and I bet they even sound half-decent.

Alex,
The Atwater-Kent "E" series cone speakers didn't sound particularly all that great. High Fidelity didn't come to the broadcast world for another 7-8 years after they were made. They were the first generation Atwater Kent speaker after the horns so I guess they were an improvement over the horn speakers; but not by much.
Just IMHO......

How "high fidelity" can you get with a 1928 design that predates the coining of the term "high fidelity"?
