If you folks want the in-depth story--including the one about her silent partner on the patent--you should read "Hedy's Folly" by historian Richard Rhodes. I finished reading it about a month ago and read it quickly because I could not put it down. Interestingly, cell phones were so far away from its original intent as the technology was created to give our side unjammable torpedoes in WWII.
