Finished repairing the Atwater Kent L2 chassis (see thread), but needed
a new line cord.
Found a few places in the 'net, but this place had the best prices and
delivery was in 3 days. And I didn't have to order 500 feet of cord!

As far as the AK, I used a piece of 3/8" power steering return hose from
Advance Auto (they're popping up like mushrooms on a stump lately) on
the tuning shaft. The hose had a larger OD that gas line, perfectly
matching the original AK part.
Found all the switches and volume pot noisy, used DeoxIT. Found a few
plates on the variable bent and shorting, straightened them out.
Replaced the original line filter caps (never quite reached infinity on
the ohm meter) with 2 Y2 caps from *Sal's Capacitor Corner*
http://www.tuberadios.com/capacitors/. All the other caps checked good
and the resistors were within 15% so I left well enough alone. Replaced
the line cord which sounded crunchy.
The set is HOT, especially at the high end. In my basement, with no
antenna (other than the three 5 inch leads going to the RF amps grid
caps), I heard WHAM from Rochester!
