There was a Collins 65S-1 receiver with a price tag of I think $1750, based
on Ebay sales is what I was told. I got there about 10:45 and got some cheap
2 meter stuff and a lot of misc. junk as well. Also, got some pole type
tower material, mostly military out of the garage. There was a box for some
Yaesu HF xcvr, but was told the radio sold earlier. Maybe that was part of
what the LI crew got. I did not think there was enough radio stuff in the
pictures to tempt people from LI to come down, but, I did run into a guy
from SI. Amazing how far some people will go for some of this junk. For me
it was about 20 miles or less. 73 - Mike

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the report. Too bad, I think I saw a ring mic and a Collins
transceiver too.

Got to the sale about 2:40, they were picked clean.
There was an AK battery set with a price tag of $275, so I didn't look any
further. On the way out I said that I was interested and asked if he'd take
$100 without the speaker (it did include a home brew power supply built on a
piece of 1x12). He agreed, but then when I went back and looked at it I saw
that it had no tubes - six empty, lonely sockets. I passed on it.
Bought a 6" Radio Shack replacement speaker for $5 - with whizzer cone !
The garage, see the original email, was totally barren, except for a John
Deere riding mower, a piece of exercise equipment, and a shop vac with allot
of miles on it.
He said that some "radio guys" from Long Island bought all the ham stuff
earlier in the day.
