OK folks..... My 2 cents!

By no means I consider myself an expert on anything but.....

Crazy glue will work on phenolic tube bases and here's why -

Crazy glue in it's chemical makeup has an amount of "methelene chloride"
which can break down "styrene" based plastics when wet. When it dries, it
becomes a "bonding agent". This is what 28 years in the plastics industry
did to me..... yikes!

I've used it for loose tube bases as well. 

In Al's defense, JB weld is without question is a better bonding agent.

But I can get "China" manufacture crazy glue in the dollar store 10 tubes
for a buck.
