Hi,
I have lots of newsletter subscriptions to various electronics parts places like Mouser, Digikey, etc. to watch for deals on electronics parts. Jameco sent out a newsletter this week with helpful tips on how to read Capacitor codes. At this point, it's probably a refresher for most of you, and the information is tailored more towards the caps you can buy today than the ones you may be replacing, but it's still useful information:

Another thing they shared which was somewhat amusing was a video of what happens when you do it wrong! They filmed capacitors under over-voltage or with reversed polarity with "go pro" style cameras and slowed it down so you can see what happens in slow motion. It's not clear just what they did (how much over voltage? how much amperage? etc.?), but it's still entertaining. Watch them do it so you don't have to experience it in person!
