All,
Off topic, but many of you in the antique electronics hobby are also in the antique car hobby, and some of you no-doubt have some contacts that may be useful to me.
I'm looking for contacts that you have personally dealt with that are trustworthy to restore some of my Delorean's non-stainless car parts. My brake calipers are neeing rebuilt soon, which I plan to either do myself, or have my personal mechanics do, but before they are rebuilt I'm considering having them either gold-colored zinc plated (like they were when they were new), or powder-coated.
Either process I'm going to need to have them cleaned\prepped (I'm guessing either by sand\bead blasted, chem dipped, or ultrasonically cleaned). I know most of these processes are regulated these days by the EPA, etc., and there are less and less vendors out there that do this in small runs, so I thought I'd ask to see if you or any of you know people that perform these services or have these facilities? I will eventually have other parts i'd like like done, but the calipers are the most immediate and important.
Any guidance\advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Matt
