Hi Bob,

My hosting service account is paid up through 2016, which is why I've been
reluctant to abandon that server and move elsewhere.  Tech support can be
weak there, but I rarely need any hand-holding on this stuff, and for the
past 10 years or so I've found them to be adequately responsive, usually
resolving a problem within a few hours on the half dozen or so occasions
that anything has gone wrong. They say they've been working on this and had
to physically replace the server hardware.  But an outage lasting a week is
unacceptable, so I did begin to temporarily move the site to a different
host. That setup failed after a few hours for reasons I'm still attempting
to sort out.

This outage has also affected my email, which hasn't made fixing things any
easier.  And with predictable Murphy's Law timing, this situation occurred
while I'm dealing with a couple of project deadlines at work.

In addition to our club, there are also a number of commercial enterprises
that are being similarly affected. I'm grateful that those folks have all
been both pragmatic and polite about it.
