I use FABRIC SOFTENER material...as used in clothes dryers.

This material is a flexible 'sheet' of polymer.

I apply an initial amount of LIQUID TAPE..and while still wet...'glue'  the 
fabric onto the wet tape...making sure the liquid penetrates to the 
outside/top of the fabric...then...when dry...apply a second/third coat on 
top of the patch.

I can assure you that this patch is one STRONG & STURDY fix!!!
