Mr. Malvasi:
Disgusted and shocked regarding your comments about this antique radio sale!
You have a right to your opinion, but who the hell annoited you to be the judge of what is junk? You may be an elite radio collector who deals only in top-of-the-line and pricey radios but not everyone can be. You may also be a very wealthy person who can afford only the "best". But maybe in your high level atmosphere you may not be aware there are some of us who, even though we love antique radios, simply cannot afford the Waltons and Stratospheres you must have. Heaven forbid you should stoop so low at to buy a nice wooden or bakelite table radio for maybe $20.
You have done a great injustice to your fellow radio collectors by describing the radios and other related items as "pure junk". I am very familiar with the stock of radios that were (and some still are) for sale. I have spent several hours both Friday and Saturday with Angelo at the sale and witnessed dozens of radios sold. The prices were ridculously low, many played, many did not. By far most of the radios were in just fine condition. Quite a few were personnaly expertly and refinished by Angelo himself.
You know, Mr. Malvasi, some people actually did take a long trip and left very happy and satisfied.
You say there was not much for sale. You should learn to count. There were many, many, dozens of radios and allied equipment. What do you consider a suitable quantity to make it worthwhile for you to go to a radio sale?
I'm really sorry if some people believed your very erroneous assessment of the sale because they probably missed out of some nice radios.
For many, many people the sale was not what you stupidly call a "bust".
Let people make up their own minds what is junk.
By the way, when are you going to have an antique radio sale? I'd love to come to see your "junk".
