[NJARC] Soldering gun case removal?

A vice, hammer, screwdriver, and duct tape have always worked well for me although I never had your model.

I have a Radio Shack #64-2187 soldering gun.

Can't figure out how to open the case??...took the screws out...but 
something is preventing it from opening up...so that I can tighten the 
internal tube elements which seem intermittant for heat....

Any ideas?
