Recently in the last couple of months I needed some parts and found them at RS. I even bought some on line at RS. I sure hope they don't go away.
Around here there is nothing wrong with their staff, I found them overly helpful, even though they didn't know what I was looking for, they tried to help. Most mall stores have the same level of help, some worse. What I was looking for they didn't have in stock, but on-line did.
I also bought a bunch of items from Amazon (free shipping Prime) and Mouser. I think Mouser is tops for selection and pricing, and you can buy just one if that's all you need. It does pay to try Amazon too, if you have Prime. I saved several dollars on some serial cables there.
On Ebay I found a cable I needed at over $5 for 3'. The same company on-line had 3' for 1.98, so I bought 6'. Coming today. - Sherry just brought me the mail, and cable arrived. www.redmancbparts.com (hated to buy from a CB company, but it's nice mic cable and fast delivery.)
OK - back to building again, Mouser parts arrived too.

Having fun smelling hot rosin and solder again.

Fortune on-line has an article about the state of Radio Shack. Say what
you will, but they still have some things we commonly use. Do we really
want to mail order for everything? Green Brook Electronics isn't just up or
down the road for most of us.
Here is the link to the article.
