Folks,

Tonight marks the 100th anniversary of the historic Armstrong - Sarnoff
meeting at the Marconi Station at Belmar. The official observation of
this event will be 8-9 Feburary 2014 at Infoage.
See: http://www.rtm.ar88.net/Armstrong_Days_at_InfoAge.html

However, a small group of true believers will be at the site this
evening to mark the occasion. We'll attempt to provide streaming video
of the "festivities" via Ustream. You can start now by going to Ustream
and viewing the test video:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/armstrong-anniversary

What you see is a 1918 IP-501 receiver operating in the Armstrong
regenerative mode allowing it to hear continous-wave signals. It is
connected to the Radio technology Museum Way-Back Machine which has the
ability to fold space so we can hear the same signals Armstrong and
Sarnoff heard 100 years ago. It is currently tuned to the Salby-Arco
alternator in Nauen, Germany.

If you correctly copy the Morse message as Sarnoff did you get a star.

We will keep you posted via this email reflector.

Regards,
Al
