Al-
I'm waiting for tomorrow when it's bitterly cold and clear from here west past Chicago.  My homebrew crystal radio has been pulling in some extraordinary DX under those conditions.  I'll be making a serious effort to hear 870 Reloj tomorrow.

Underway is a rush workbench project to finish a variable super high Q antenna notch filter to kill the power stations, especially WMTR at 1250, only a half mile away.

Back in the city last night and didn't get nearly as much as I did in Northport. However was able to pick up WWKB Buffalo, as well as a Cincinnati station, and CHML which I usually get pretty clear in my apartment. I was also barely getting a station at 990. It seemed like every time they did the ID the reception would crap out. I did manage to catch the show name which was a Christian talk show called 'Hope for the Heart' or 'Hope in the Night' with June Hunt. When I cross referenced this on the web the only thing I could find where this show is broadcast on 990 is KRKS in Denver. I'm not convinced that I can get any type of signal in Manhattan from Denver so I'm going to try to get
this signal again until I can clearly ID who they are.

strong locals everywhere I tune, so 9 out of 10 of you are in better locations. I'm using a homebrew loop antenna in an upstairs room under the eves. There is a minimum of local noise and minimum shielding by wires, pipes, and ducts up there. Take you portable, and explore your domicile for a quiet place.
