[NJARC] RIP Al Feldstein

Al,

A bit off topic, but for those unaware, Al Feldstein has passed. Al Feldstein worked a EC Comics (Weird Science, Tales From the Crypt, etc.) as a writer, painter, and editor. He was also in charge of MAD Magazine for 28 years.  I'm sure many of you have read some of these as children (even I have gotten a chance to read some of them in re-printed form) and probably helped shaped you, good, bad, or otherwise, into who you are today.  Many of the stories from EC comics inspired artists like Spielberg, John Carpenter, and George Lucas to write stories of their own.

I met the man about ten years ago at a comic book convention in Ohio. He was a very nice man who was happy to talk to his fans and was very proud of his work. At the show he posed in front of an oil painting he did. It was a cover for an issue of Weird Science I believe; evidently all the early covers he did for EC were painted in this fashion before being mass produced.
