1.  the #455 pilot lamp - 6.3 V @ 0.5 amp -  is a FLASHER...for those 
blinking lights in the pinball machine;
2.  the only 6.3 v @ 0.5 amp pilot lamp comes only in bayonet;
3.  Eiko company makes ALL kinds of lamps:

4.  Eiko #238 is the 6.3 V @ 0.5 amp bayonet;
5.  Eiko does not sell direct...and their ( large ) electrical distributors 
have HUGE minimum & special order.

So far, the 'best' place for getting ( cheapest ) bulbs is from "The Bulb 
Store"...#238 @ 74 cents each...package of 10 for $7.40 and shipping 1st 
class mail @ $4.56

I did have an easy option...buy a 5.95 V ( yes, that is what the package 
says )  @ 0.5 amp flashlight bulb from Radio Shack...and 'work' the socket 
for the bulb....BUT..its lifetime is 13 HOURS....
the #238 pilot lamp has a lifetime of 2000 HOURS!!!...kinda smells of 
designed obsolensce for flashlite bulbs???
