HI STEVE:

USUALLY THIS INDICATES A B+ SHORT.
I WOULD NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN UNTIL YOU FIND AND FIX IT.
YOU DO NOOT WANT TO LOSE YOUR POWER TRANSFORMER.

Finished up my 'full' restoration on the Philco 37-620...wood, chassis..and
polished nuts....it even works...after alllll that!!!

Had used my Philco 116 during the DX contest...it smoked for a few minutes
from under the chassis...couldn't find the exact spot...it stopped by
itself...sooooo I continued listening in...and finished the log.

Just put it back on the bench...plugged it in...my 5Y3 started
flashing...like a ligthning storm inside the glass...shut it down real
quick.

Soooooooooo...is it the tube??....or 'something' else???...causing this?

Tnx,
Steve T.
