[NJARC] Help with Philco Transitone 53-562

HI STEVE:

THE 12AV6 ARE SUPPOSED TO BE CONNECTED TOGETHER AND THEY GO TO THE COMMON GROUND.NOT CHASSIS GND.

LOOKING AT THE FILAMENT STRING 35C5 PIN 3 AND THE 12BA6 PIN 4 IS THAT VARISTORTHERE?

Just put it onto the bench...

split/blown BIG resistor not shown on schematic..nor parts list:
    47K ...1-1/8 inches long x 1/2 diameter = old 10 watter??
     between pin 4 of 35W4 and pin 2&3 of 12AV6

2.  pins 2 & 3 of that 12AV6 are surely soldered together:
      schematic shows NO connection with these two pins????

Do not have "Notes" which may show addition of these details....

Curious that my ( first? ) radio problem doesn't match with the Philco 
pages...
