An Email from Ludwell Sibley.....
As some of you know, CHRS is in the mode of emergency fundraising to purchase the historic KRE transmitter building in Berkeley where they have their museum, audio studio, etc. The cause is the bankruptcy of the building’s present owner, Inner City Broadcasting.
I’m not a CHRS member, but have seen these guys working valiantly over the last eight years to take a graffitized, trashed-out building and make something proud out of it. They’ve done awfully well. The museum looks like a real winner.
They’ve also built up a great library, starting with the Jim Maxwell (W6CF) collection and recently adding the archives of the Society of Wireless Pioneers.
In any event, the bankruptcy proceeding has been stayed for a while, so the fundraising has a bit more time and is “nearly there.” A two far-distant antique-radio clubs (Alabama and Delaware Valley) have kicked in money. A couple of AWA and TCA members in the Bay Area have been particularly generous.
I encourage everybody to tune in to

and make a pledge. Did so myself, last night.

Richard Lee,
I encourage the NJARC club to also make a donation. I believe the DVHRC has already made a donation.
I have made my pledge over a month ago.
