Fellow members,
As you may have noticed, you antique radio club has established a rather
credible Museum occupying about 3000 square feet at InfoAge. NJARC's
cash outlay for the roof over our heads and utilities is virtually
zero. This doesn't come for free, however. There are two reasons for
our good fortune. One, the Radio Technology Museum is arguably the best
part of the InfoAge museum complex. Two, the Museum staff puts in a
fair amount of time supporting other InfoAge activities, and the
management knows they can count on us.
The annual Haunted Hotel, Haunted Hike, and now Camp Evans Base of
Terror (CEBOT) has been a significant money maker for InfoAge. Think of
it as a big bakes sale. It's important that we support this activity.
The Museum Staff has worked hard to set up our traditional Mad Science
Lab; http://www.ar88.net/madsci.html , but we're spread pretty thin,
especially now that the Museum is open three days a week.
We really need your help to man the display. The layout has been
simplified compared to previous years. A crew of 3 or 4 is all we
need. The dates involved are Friday and Saturday, October 12, 13, 19,
20, 26 and 27 from 6 -11 PM. If 10% of the club would just put in one
evening each, that would about cover it. It's actually a lot of fun.
Contact Ray Chase, 908-757-9741 or Harry Klancer, 732-238-1083 to
schedule. Talk to them about other Museum volunteer opportunities as well.
Counting on YOUR generosity,
Al
