[NJARC] NYT article about automotive audio

Didn't know Muntz was into audio, I only remember their catchy TV commercials.

Ruth and I just were talking this morning about "Refrigerator Radios". I always
thought of them as a cheep 4 tube radio but it seems to be much more. A few
were six tube AC/DC radios with an RF amp which puts them in a higher class of
performance.

Anyone know what is the time period and who was first with the concept?
Jim
