Sherry decided we needed a new floor in the living room, a wooden one.
I figured that because I had to put them all back after our new floor was completed, I may as well inventory the collection. I first thought about using a spread sheet.
I found a great and reasonably inexpensive, program for tracking my book library. I looked on-line and found this one for $25 after a $5 discount. They provide a sample database to play with, and you can start your own database for up to 100 books for free. Then you need to buy it. After about 10 books I was convinced and bought it. They provide a key and when added opens up the program for multiple databases for any amount of books. It prints reports, will make a web page and has many other nice features.
Here is the Collectorz.com web site:

I found the automatic entry fantastic. By entering the ISBN or LOC numbers, it fills the fields with the proper data. Also for older books like we have, by entering (partial) Author and (partial) Title, it will find the information on line and fill it in for you. It even finds book covers for you. And you can track your book loans, if you loan books out.
The program is well behaved on my Win7 computer. This was the best $25 I've spent lately.
I have no connection with the company.
