Since most of us have overlapping hobbies (I collect cars, phonographs
and just stuff besides radios) I thought you might be interested in what
Lindsay Publications has to offer, if you don't already know. They put
out a line of Technical Books or pamphlets, not ones you can find on the
shelf at the library or the local book store, but ones that were
originally published in it's heyday. The one I recently bought is
"Phonograph Notes." Articles from 1880 to 1912, one of them telling you
how to make your own tinfoil phonograph.

The technical books have to do with casting rubber parts, tricks of "Old
Time Machinists", electroplating, history of early weapons, wood
working, "Practical Brickwork" and on. How about "Railroad Shop
Practice"? I'm talking about steam before the diesel electric. Just
reading their catalog is funny enough. How about "Echoes from the Oil
Country - At The Nitro-glycerine factory".
