Hi all,
I was asked to help supply a few artifacts for an upcoming display on the
history of Television in New Jersey at the Middlesex County Museum. The
museum is near Rutgers University.
I told them that I'd be very happy to help and that the artifacts they
were seeking should be available. I have a lot of the stuff they're
looking for in my personal collection, most of which of course is not
quite "ready for prime time" in terms of its displayability.
Most of their requirements are fairly modest: an RCA 621 television (a
630 would be their second choice if a 621 was not available,) a DuMont
Chatham "doghouse" TV and originals or scans of posters, advertising or
other printed material related to the history of television in NJ.
One request that might be a bit more difficult to fulfill was for a
Jenkins scanning disc TV.
I've been told that space is limited, so they're not looking for much
more than this or any large items (although suggestions are welcome) and
that security and insurance would be provided.
The display is scheduled to run from September of this year through the
summer of 2012.
Please let me know if you have any items you'd be willing to place on
loan. This sounds like another great opportunity to get some exposure for
our club and for InfoAge.
Thanks,
