Matt,
    The idler wheel may look alright but it has to have the right amount of grabbing power. The rubber tends to harden up with age and you lose the grabbing ability. Clean the idler with lacquer thinner and see if that does the trick. If it works well after that, it will only be a temporary fix because he rubber will harden again in a few weeks or months.
