Radio Collectors and Historians and Hams,

http://www.maarc.org/

Don't miss RadioFallFest this Sunday, MAARC's big Fall vintage radio meet at our regular meeting site in Davidsonville, Maryland. This is a vintage radio meet, flea market, and Hamfest, with a huge auction. Gates open at 7AM and the auction will go all afternoon. No admission charge for venders or attendees! See: http://www.maarc.org/

Here are a few of the items that members will be putting in the auction, or in some cases for sale in the flea market:

I am bringing the Silvertone chairside. It is in beautiful cosmetic condition and is working well. It has a large copper dial, 3 bands, a tuning eye, and the most wonderful half-oval shape with original glass top and original grille cloth in perfect shape. This is a rare set in great condition; the only example of this design that I have ever seen.

I am also bringing a 1933 Detrola Model 1000 (the Junior) metal mantel set, also very rare. These were not suppose to be released by Detrola but one or a few must have been rescued by someone in the factory. This is the only example I have ever seen. I am bringing two similar sets by GE/RCA. They display beautifully together. The Detrola won a ribbon in the 2007 RadioActivity Old Equipment Contest. I'll bring the contest documentation too.

I am bringing a British crystal set of fine quality. Also an exceptional condition Hammerlund speaker cabinet.

I am also bringing some high-quality transistor radios and a full stock of new collector books; mostly discounted 10 to 15%. I have recently restocked my entire inventory of new books. So once again I have books that I had run out of, like the Philco and Atwater Kent books, and many others.

The Silvertone chairside, the Detrola 1000, the British crystal set, and the Hammerlund speaker are from my personal collection; so you can be sure of exceptional quality.

Best regards to all, and see you Sunday!
