I have talked to Sandy the president of the Camden County Historical
society. According to Sandy these replacement windows there are not
real stained glass but actually plexiglass. If you know any thing
about plexiglass it flexes in the wind! They have had the problem
with the plexiglass panels blowing out for some time now. However it
is only recently Management has stopped putting the panels back in and
they no longer light the tower at night ! It is wonderful to hear they
are going to fix this.

I remember the first time I saw the nipper window. I was nine years
old and I was on a class field trip to go see the Battle Ship NJ I was
so excited. I waited 2 months anticipating I could care less about
that ship I was going to see the nipper window. I only got to see it
for 30 seconds but it was worth the 2 month wait. When we got to the
Battle Ship NJ. I was so excited because I was going to get to see the
nipper window for a second time on the way home ! I can truly say
that out of all the kids who went on the field trip I had the most
fun. I still have the photos I took.
