Thank you for all your help! I hope I can find a good home for this
handsome radio -- I hate to let it go! FYI, in photo #2 there is a light
blue strip of cardboard at the bottom sill of the open cabinet -- it's
just cardboard and shouldn't have been in the photo.

Craig's List ad 5/31/10:

1931 Crosley Antique Radio — Beautiful Crosley Model 124 console radio
with front door covers (made in 1931, I think). Apparently all original,
including separate aluminum foil antenna, cabinet is in good original
finish with some light bumps and scratches, but flat top wood surface
needs some refinishing. Have not turned on radio in decades, but last
time I did, it lighted up and there was a hum. No visible damage to
speaker, wires or tubes, but all is sold as is. All grill cloth, knobs
etc. are in good shape. I can't find an identical unit in any photo
collections on line — could this be a very rare Model 124? I know nothing
about antique radios, but need to sell this and get it into the hands of
someone who will treat it right. It's a heavy piece of furniture, so
shipping is probably out of the question. Location for pickup is in
Belmar area. Very attractive all wood cabinet with maple (?) veneers.
Restored Model 124 radio chassis' and tubes seem to be widely available
from collectors/restorers on line. See attached photos (pardon the
interior dust — unit has been in storage for 40 years!) — additional
views available. Only serious inquiries and offers please — unit is in
storage. Any knowledgeable information on this exact unit, prices,
weblinks, etc. would be appreciated.
