Hi Bill O.
I've got a tip for you -- don't be sticking your iron in places where it doesn't
belong....you could get burned.
Later,
JR
PS -- One last thing -- all this nonsense brings to mind an incident that
happened to me ages ago. Summer of '78 -- I'm working at Radio Shack. A grumpy
old geezer walks in and asks for "solder tape." I said "what's that?" He
explained that it was solder in *tape* (foil) form, that you wrapped around a
connection and let with a match. Talk about half-a$$ soldering! I said, "Nahh,
we don't have anything like that."
Much to my surprise, we *did* have it. My boss knew about it -- the grumpy old
geezer gave me a dirty look. I felt like saying "Buy a *real* soldering iron and
some *real* solder, you grumpy old goat." Must have been a CBer....
Come to think of it, he looked a bit like John Dilks. Less gray in the beard, a
bit younger of course (this was over 30 years ago). Hmmmm.....;-)

Thanks for the tip.
It looks like the Solder Collectors Club of America (SCCA) is defunct. Their
website is now the Sports Car Club of Afghanistan. I dot find their site very
interesting and their last rally bombed out.
