[NJARC] Bendix Z D?

Hi Folks,

At an antique store on Saturday, I found a little triangular pin (or maybe it's a tie tack) that says Bendix at the top (their classic logo) and the 
letters "Z" and "D" in each of the other corners. In the middle is a globe.

What did "ZD" stand for? Zero Defects? Or something else? I Googled "Bendix Z D" and got some hits, but I don't think they're relevant. Any ideas? Maybe some kind of navigational system?
