[NJARC] Six Meter AM, anyone?

Hi John,

Well, I have a working 6-meter Communicator III around here somewhere.
However, this sounds like a rehash of the 2-meter AM boondoggle we had a
while ago. Yes, we have the radios, but do we have antennas, feedlines,
and reasonable locations?

Let me make a modest proposal. Let's do some experiments with FM
simplex, and possibly conduct a net. Almost every ham has some sort of
2-meter FM rig, so that's the lowest common denominator. A rubber
duckie probably isn't going to cut it, so you'll need to organize a real
antenna, probably out doors. This will establish a base line of who can
communicate with whom on VHF. Then we can move to AM.

I currently have a Ringo Ranger (vertical) on the roof here in JC about
130 feet above sea level. I had a nice simplex QSO with an oldtimer in
Manasquan (South of InfoAge) the other week while playing with a
military set that can't work repeaters.

So, if anyone wants to arrange a sched, let me know.
