John -

How, by answering him? You are of course just sore because I would not sell
you a 1920's ham set that I preferred to keep. I did offer to let you borrow
it - for free - since you said you only wanted it for an article. You
declined that offer. I had lots of offers for it, but, it is still here, I
too like it. Besides, you helped to make this place into what it is by
facilitating my purchasing Phil's estate over 11 years ago. Took us (my
kids, friends, and Kathy and I) 2 years to clean it out. You only asked that
I give you one item out of that purchase, which I gladly did. So, I do not
know why you are complaining, but, then again, that has been your mode for a
long time. Your prices are typically way out there, and in my opinion a lot
more so than you claim mine to be. I remember the time you were here at my
house, before going to Rochester, dangling a 1920's 1 tuber military
receiver in front of my nose. This was almost 12 years ago, and you wanted
$400 for it which I finally paid. You picked it up at a hamfest, for
practically nothing, which you confided to me. Agreed, what you paid for it
was not relevant, but $400 would only been paid by a few, if any, other than
myself. Since then I did pick up another for $150. Now, unfortunately one of
them is just about totally shot as it was in the water and the other is
somewhat better. I really should not even stoop low enough to respond to
these adolescent jealous and ignorant posts. You are certainly all welcome
not to come here. There are lots of others, just seems to be rampant amongst
NJARC members, and that was my observation. Since my original post about a
month ago, there have been about 30 people here, maybe 4 of them were from
NJARC. BTW, the NJARC guys all left with at a minimum of one item and some
with more and even being NJARC members they planned on coming back.
Yesterday there were two hams here from NY, and both plan on coming back. I
still have a few I need to schedule as it has been hectic, but, winding
down, hence my last post, which was just in jest really, regarding the
auction. Last from me on this. NJARC members are welcome, but, not
necessary, I just felt it would have been mutually beneficial, but again, I
cannot deal with a "better than thou" attitude, and cheap, that you and Alex
seem to share. Maybe you guys are looking for your "bailout" package. 73 -
Mike

Mike,

You just proved Alex's point.

And anyone who didn't already know you, now will figure you out.
