It’s OPEN HOUSE MONTH! Please make every effort 
to attend this important meeting! We have invited 
virtually every ham in Southern Ocean County to 
attend! We will have refreshments available 
including hoagies and pizza for all! Don’t eat 
dinner at home! Come to the meeting site at 6PM 
and mix and mingle with fellow hams! We will have 
demos/booths set up from our other local 
organizations including Ocean County ARES, SJDXA, 
835 Users Group, Battleship New Jersey
. And a 
special welcome to our new SM from the ARRL George Strayline W2GSS (ex N3GZ).

Our VERY special program will be by John Dilks, 
K2TQN who is the “Old Radio” columnist for QST! 
John will be presenting what is most likely the 
very first DXpedition, the Wireless Adventures of 
Don Mix and his expedition to the North Pole on 
the Bowdoin. This show is one that you will 
thoroughly enjoy! A very special look into what 
was an exciting incredible adventure set in 1923! 
I saw an early version of this show at the SCARA 
dinner this year. It was quite enjoyable to 
watch, especially with the insight provided by 
John who put this show together using old photos 
and Don Mix’s diary which were all provided by Don’s family.

Again! If you only make one meeting each year! Please make it this one!
