Hi John,
You just reminded me I bought that stupid Vibroplex. I have another one
somewhere, so I knew, for sure, there was no way I'd ever actually use
the thing. They require coordination that I just don't have. So it's
better that I got the left handed one, which I guess is a better curio.
Both of these are older than I thought. Mine is serial no. 97874. This
website says it's from 1926: http://www.la.ca.us/frandy/dating.html
Your is older still if I remembered the number. I know it had the Fulton
St. address. I THINK they're both "Blue Racers." Both are missing the
round dash knob, like a regular straight key knob, and the speed
controlling weights. If you actually want to use the thing you'll want
extra weighs as the originals will only slow down to about 30 wpm.
Hopefully, Pete or one of the other old timers can set us straight.
