I do not have any solid information on how or why Hallicrafters produced
the EC series during the war but most radio mag.'s of the era had ads
for the Echophone radios throughout the war. I have two histories on
Hallicrafters by Max De Henseler and Chuck Dachis that infer PX sales or
radios sent to servicemen. I'll bring them along on Wednesday. There
were quite a few variations of the Echophone series ranging from a few
simple controls to a full panel of controls. Don't think that the
inside circuitry changed that much though.
